Consistently ranked as the #1 golf course in England, this Open Championship and former Ryder Cup venue weaves its way through large imposing dunes at Southport. Don't forget to check out the 13th where Jordan Spieth played his second shot from the driving range en route to winning the 2017 Open.
Host of The Open on 11 occasions, the routing of the holes and the huge number of bunkers - some 200 in all - make for a supreme test of course strategy, shot making and short game skills. Little wonder that the great Seve Ballesteros won 2 of his Open championships here.
Steeped in history and a supreme test of ball striking, Royal Liverpool has a habit of identifying the great from the good. In 1930, Bobby Jones won the 2nd leg of his famous Grand Slam here, whilst the two most recent Open champions have been Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
Running adjacent to Royal Birkdale, Hillside is a true championship links course in its own right and host of the 2019 British Masters. The back nine in particular delivers one of the finest stretches of holes anywhere in the UK. Greg Norman has said "the back nine holes are the best in Britain".
Another true championship links, Formby has hosted The Amateur on four occasions as well as the Curtis Cup. Running through mature sand dunes and pinewoods, the magnificent contrasts make Formby arguably the most attractive and memorable course on Liverpool & Southport's Golf Coast.
This two time Ryder Cup venue is a James Braid masterpiece nestled amongst rolling links land. The course is a magnificent test of golf, especially with the sea breeze and profusion of heather combining to provide a challenging and immensely enjoyable day.
