Join Top 100 Golf Tours during the week of The 150th Open Championship for a bucket list escorted tour around some of the very finest courses in Scotland.  With the opportunity to watch the 150th Open live in person and culminating in an exceptional 5* property overlooking the Old Course, this exclusive tour will see you playing 3 Open Championship venues and 4 further world class courses for a truly once-in-a-lifetime golf tour.


Starting in Ayrshire, "The Birthplace of The Open", we will play the Open Championship venues of Royal Troon and Prestwick, plus the magnificent links at Western Gailes.  Heading across Scotland we will then take in the final 2 days of the 150th Open at The Home of Golf, before closing out our tour with rounds at Carnoustie, St Andrews Castle, Dumbarnie Links and Kingsbarns.  With the potential to play the Old Course immediately after The Open, this really is the bucket list tour of a lifetime!

The 150th Open Golf Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Thurs 14th July

  • Arrival in Ayrshire, the "Birthplace of The Open"
  • We kick off the tour with a mid afternoon tee time at Royal Troon - ranked #17 in the UK & Ireland and host of The Open Championship on 9 occasions. Can you hit the green on the infamous "Postage Stamp" par 3?
  • Opening night dinner and 2 nights bed & breakfast at The Gailes Hotel. This luxury family owned hotel is perfect for golfers, it even boasts its own 9 hole golf course, short-game area and floodlit driving range!

Day 2: Fri 15th July

  • Morning tee time at Prestwick - ranked #44 in the UK & Ireland and host of The Open Championship on 24 occasions
  • 3 course lunch following golf in the historic Prestwick dining room. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the fantastic Open memorabilia at one of the must-visit clubhouses in the world of golf
  • Afternoon tee time at Western Gailes - ranked #47 in the UK & Ireland and yet somehow one of the hidden gems of Scottish golf 

Day 3: Sat 16th July

  • Morning self-transfer across Scotland for 3 nights bed & breakfast at the Carnoustie Golf Hotel
  • Superbly located overlooking the 18th green of the Championship course, the hotel provides an exceptional base from which to witness the weekend action at nearby St Andrews (tickets not included)

Day 4: Sun 17th July

  • Free day to spend watching the final round of The 150th Open

Day 5: Mon 18th July

  • Tee time at St Andrews (Castle) - ranked #89 in the UK & Ireland and the newest course at St Andrews
  • Just a day after The 150th Open, this roller-coaster cliff top classic has stupendous views over St Andrews that will have you reaching for your camera time and time again

The 150th Open Golf Tour 2022

Day 6: Tues 19th July

  • Afternoon tee time at Carnoustie (Championship) - ranked #5 in the UK & Ireland and 8-time host of The Open Championship
  • Widely considered to be one of the toughest courses in the world, past Open Champions here include legends such as Ben Hogan, Gary Player and Tom Watson. Can you play to your handicap?
  • Self transfer to St Andrews for 4 nights self-catered accommodation in a 5* luxury shared apartment directly overlooking the 17th and 18th holes of the Old Course

Day 7: Wed 20th July

  • After the experience of playing Carnoustie, pause for breath with a rest and relaxation day in St Andrews
  • Visit the British Golf Museum, hunt down Young and Old Tom Morris' graves at the ruined cathedral or sunbathe on the glorious beach made famous by "Chariots of Fire".  Whatever you do, make time to play at least one round on the infamous Himalayas putting green, laughter and enjoyment guaranteed!
  • Possibility to play The Old Course immediately following The 150th Open via the daily ballot process (please note: this tee time is not guaranteed and not included in the package price below)

Day 8: Thurs 21st July

  • Tee time at Dumbarnie Links - ranked #40 in the UK & Ireland and Scotland's newest true links
  • Opened in 2020 to great acclaim, Dumbarnie has already entered the Top 100 rankings and is set to rise further in the future.  A visually stunning links, the multitude of playable risk reward holes will make or break your round!

Day 9: Fri 22nd July

  • Late morning tee time at Kingsbarns - ranked #15 in the UK & Ireland and joint host of annual Dunhill Links Championship
  • We complete our tour at this magnificent modern masterpiece, the personal favourite of golfers from all over the world and a fitting end for our Open Championship Tour 
  • Final presentation dinner in The Claret Jug restaurant, St Andrews

Day 10: Sat 23rd July

  • Depart for home
  • Option to add additional rounds at venues of your choice, e.g. Gleneagles, Royal Dornoch etc

  • Green fees at any course listed above on a rest day (e.g. St Andrews Old, Gleneagles, Royal Dornoch etc) - these are optional extras
  • Spectator tickets to 150th Open at St Andrews (interested parties are encouraged to enter the R&A Ticket Ballot)

  • Handicap limits apply: Gents 20, Ladies 30
  • Tour price is a guide only and subject to a minimum number of 7 golfers. In the event the minimum number is not reached, Top 100 Golf Tours reserves the right to adjust the price accordingly and/or cancel the entire tour
  • Top 100 Golf Tours endeavours to perform the tour in line with the published itinerary, but reserves the right to change or substitute where necessary (to the nearest possible standard).
